Twilight’s Leah Gibson has just been cast in Marvel’s Jessica Jones season 2
Leah Gibson (The Twilight Saga: Eclipse, Rise of the Planet of the Apes) has just been cast in Marvel’s Jessica Jones Season 2, according to Variety. Netflix has yet to confirm. Gibson will reportedly play Ingrid, a street-wise woman trained as a nurse. The site points out that the description, which leaked in April, caused fans to speculate that the character is actually Typhoid Mary. That character, who has dissociative identity disorder, also has some psionic powers like telekinesis and has worked as an assassin.
A Netflix original series, Marvel’s Jessica Jones is a suspenseful, edgy look into the life of Jessica Jones, one of the most popular new Marvel characters of the last decade, as she faces demons from within and without. After a tragic ending to her short-lived Super Hero stint, Jessica Jones is rebuilding her personal life and career as a detective who gets pulled into cases in New York City.
Krysten Ritter stars as the title hero in the series and was joined in season one by Mike Colter (Luke Cage), Rachael Taylor (Trish Walker), Carrie-Anne Moss, Eka Darville, Erin Moriarty, and Wil Traval. Ritter can next be seen as the character in the upcoming Marvel’s The Defenders, which debuts August 18 on Netflix. Golden Globe winner and two-time Academy Award-nominated actress Janet McTeer (Tumbleweeds, Albert Nobbs, Me Before You) joined the series earlier this year in a mystery role that will have a huge impact on the life of Jessica Jones.
Leah Gibson is known for her work as Nettie in The Twilight Saga: Eclipse, as well as playing Silhouette’s girlfriend in the opening of Watchmen. She’s also appeared in Rise of the Planet of the Apes.
